August 6th Events – Cardboard Regatta and Swap Meet

Cardboard Regatta

It is  time for our annual cardboard regatta with a new location. It will be  on August 6th at 9:00am at the Rosemeade Aquatic Center. Registration
begins at 8:30am. Get your family or troups together and take old cardboard boxes and reuse them for some fun boating. We have races and contests for best boat and most spirited team/captain.  Click here

ANNUAL School Clothes Swap Meet – August 6th at 12:30

Our  event last year was such a huge success, we are doing it again! I know
it is hard to believe, but school will be starting soon and it is time to go
through all of your kids clothes and prepare for the fall. Now, you have a
chance to upgrade to some new clothes without having to spend any money.
This beats any free tax day.

The process is simple: just bring gently used clothes don’t fit anymore and
bring them to the library. A few hours later you will be able to get new clothes.
You get a one for one swap….bring one article of clothing, get one back. NO
undergarments, socks, pajamas will be accepted. School uniforms are definitely
welcome. Shoes are also welcome, but please make sure they are not worn out
and suitable for another year of use. Items donated will not be returned; instead
they will be given to the Metrocrest Community Services for redistribution or

12:30 – 2;00 Drop off clothes
2:00 – 2:30 Volunteers Sort clothes**
2:30 – 4:30 Swap Meet – Shop and pick up clothes

**We need volunteers. If you commit to working from 12:00 to 2:30 and help us
take and sort clothes, then you will get first pick of all clothes….you still
need to donate clothes to get the 1 to 1 swap. If interested in volunteering,
please contact Cathy at cathy@kcbadmin.org. Volunteers are also needed
during swap meet and clean up til 5:00 if you are looking to give back to
community or earn hours.
